Then you will visit Civita di Bagnoregio, where you will have time to stroll on the small cobbled streets, before heading to Montefiascone, a lovely town overlooking the Bolsena Lake. This would be the last stop, before going back to your hotel in Rome.
Orvieto origins go back to the 9th Century B.C.The site of the city is among the most dramatic in Europe, rising above the almost-vertical faces of tuff cliffs that are completed by defensive walls. Orvieto was a Roman colony and belonged to the Papal State. It is famous worldwide for its fabulous cathedral, its Etruscan ruins, local pottery industry and for Orvieto Classico wine. Montefiascone, famous for its wine, hosts the remains of the old Papal summer residence. At the top of the hill it provides a tremendous view of Bolsena Lake. Civita di Bagnoregio is a gem in central Italy. It was inhabited by the Etruscans 2500 years ago and today it is noted for its striking position atop a plateau of volcanic tuff overlooking the Tiber river valley.
